Walking

Walking

IU Bloomington is consistently ranked one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country, making it the perfect place to travel on foot.

Employees who walk to work are eligible for Hoosier Commuter Club benefits.

Campus walking trails

Healthy IU—IU's employee wellness program—provides resources for employees, students, and visitors who want to explore the beauty of campus on foot. Select Outdoor Walking Trails on the Healthy IU website to see a map of outdoor walking trails on the IU Bloomington campus.

Emergency call boxes

The university has many specially marked outdoor pay phones and emergency call boxes if you need help in an emergency. By pressing a button on an emergency call box, you will immediately be put in direct contact with the IU Police Department.

All residence halls have phones at their main entrances that can be used for emergency calls.

Alternatives to walking
