IU Bikes Month recap

IU Bikes Month recap

Despite April showers, IU Bikes Month 2025 successfully brought together students, staff, and faculty to celebrate and support biking at IU.

Events included “Bike-urious? Try a Bike on Campus” for beginning or interested bikers. Participants learned how to access free bike rentals and tried out different types of bikes, including e-bikes and electric kits. Among the 30 participants, a dozen tried out biking for the first time!

A total of 60 people attended the clinics, and half brought bikes to be serviced. Media School student Isaac Perlich created a great story mentioning the event for IU NewsNet’s website and newscast (starting at the 18:23 mark)!

Discounts, giveaways

In addition to events, we launched a new, 30% discount on bikes at IU Surplus through a first-time partnership, distributing 50 coupons throughout April. The response was great, and we are looking forward to future collaborations.

At each event, attendees could scan a QR code to enter a giveaway for a Biking Essentials Kit. Some participants offered positive feedback and asked additional questions about biking on campus that we’ve since followed up on individually.
