Topic: Biking in the Coronavirus Era
Cycling during the COVID-19 [pandemic] proved to be an amazing inspiration to reach my highest ever yearly mileage total. During 2020, I ended up riding more than 5,500 miles. My goal for 2021 is 6,000 miles, and I'm well on my way to achieving it.
Most of the miles were logged riding locally to our home in Brown County, Indiana. We also took several trips to other places around the country. There are many great rail trails that are perfect for taking bike trips. Among my favorites was a trip we took to the New Haven, Connecticut, area. All total, we road more than 140 miles, taking in the fall colors and amazing scenery around Connecticut. Other places we travelled to were Minnesota; Ohio; Richmond, Indiana; and Kentucky. There was and is no better way to see some amazing sites, both locally and around the country, than from bike saddle. The bike trails get you away from the "beaten path" for some unique perspectives.
